ARE WE THERE YET?



We crave for prosperity ,gender  equality ,freedom ,justice ,green pastures. We talk about each with  strong  force and anger ,but our attitude towards bringing all to reality is lackadaisical. Why is that so?. Are we waiting for someone to work on it for us?
We haven't  reached our goals yet ,why have we relaxed? People still suffer ,others die because they don't have enough resources to survive and its now like we don't care anymore. We are comfortable with the current happenings because we want to be. We are just settling  for less.
This is not the Africa I learnt about growing up. I know Africans wouldn't give up without a fight but here is the case nothing  similar  is being thought of. The fact that some leaders do not even believe in their people  and some people not  believing  in their leaders saddens my heart.
What happened  to unity? What happened  to individual  prosperity?.Why is the rate of poverty  rapidly  increasing? Don't we want the best anymore? We can end with the same energy  we started with. We are not there ,we are just close but we must know we are the change and  the ones to make a safe and beautiful environment.
We will surely get there ,I know for sure.

    well said sis . are we there ?.looking at the resources,the talents,the power and many more God blessed us with. all we need is positive mind. that's the only solution.

    If we don't have the solution, we are not there. We have to make use of the resources to get there.

    Very insightful piece.
    Comparing with the current economic state of the nation, your piece is very contextual.

    But I know with all my certainty that, if our leaders and the ones after them could set priorities right, and choose justice over the neverending selfish desires, we definitely will get there!

      That is so true. But if our leaders "choose justice over selfish desires" and we don't do same ,will we get there?

      Because we'll be leaders after our leaders, our change for the better will be spontaneous if our predecessors become the change. And same applies to the next generation if we become the change.

      But it's certain we will get there because, bringing forth change has become our burning desire.

    U are more than just right. How can we get there ? With all the things that is going on around, it is going to be very difficult to get there. If a country is to be free from corruption and become a nation of beautiful and productive minds,there will be a massive change. And the change won't happen in a negative way but a more positive one. Our leaders and we the people must put our acts together and do what is right. We should all be patriotic and fight against corruption. I wouldn't call that good governance although it is, but I'd rather call it self-defense. We a's patriotic citizens defending the nation and doing what's good for the country.
    We need to change our mentality and mindset. The change needs to happen now.

A PIECE OF BLACK

 I don’t know about other colors, but I know there should be a piece of black in all of us, just a piece. Without it, many people will suffer, others will starve, some might even die. Well, black here refers to all our negative attitudes. Yes! Our negative attitudes, and one of them is a piece, selfishness. We are drowning with people we are supposed to save, dying with people we are supposed to heal and crying with people we are supposed to cheer because we do not have a piece of black at that point. We are to first lay a good foundation for ourselves and later make ourselves better in order to help others reach their goals.
