Grass is expected to be green and it is actually supposed to be green. I mean no other colour, but green. Do you agree?
This is what society demands of us and we do not hesitate to meet its demands. There are laid down rules, which somehow draw a picture how society wants the future to be. There are patterns which we are to follow in order to attain the standards society has set for us, but, we have no idea what this does to us.
Our passion is cleared and our vision, blurred.
Our creativity sinks and so does our potentials and these guidelines from society changes our personality, we become different.
What if we lived in our own way? What if we followed our own patterns? What if we set our own goals?
This is when grass turns blue.
Too many of us move through our lives with our true selves buried below layers of repressed emotion.
With so much energy channeled towards attaining these standards society has set, there is little left over for the deeper questions.
Fine! The kind of people we want to become in future may not be society's favourite, but we should still become those people.
Fine! The kind of occupations we want also may not be society's favourite but we must do it anyway.
I believe the morals society gives is enough for us to make the right decisions and live the best life one could ever live. So, the rules do not make us better people it just changes who we are. Life is somewhat ours, therefore, factors like these have no place in it until we allow them to.
Do not be afraid to show who you really are because when grass turns blue, it is appreciated because it is unique, it is valued because it is extra ordinary and it is kept because it's scarce.
You may be a "blue grass", but you know what? You will be a pasture to many.
Make the claim today, that, "I AM THE AUTHORITY OF MY OWN LIFE AND I GET A SAY IN HOW IT UNFOLDS."
